MTV premiered Season 2 of The Life of Ryan on Tuesday. I watched it expecting a lot of screaming girls and Ryan crying over his woes as pro skater. To my surprise there was no crying, but still a lot of girls screaming. In this first episode Ryan is in Orlando for the Dew Tour’s final event. His parent’s divorce has got him caught in the middle blah, blah, blah. It sounds like the same old season 1 but actually it’s better. It looks like the boy is finally becoming a man. The promo for the rest of the season eludes to Ryan making decisions on his own and for himself. This 8 episode season looks to have more skating and less Laguna Beach. Interstate will be at the Volcom Mini Ramp Jam Fest at Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida on January 12th and 13th.
The 80-foot wide mini ramp built by Team Pain will feature a invite-only Pro/Am contest with $35,000 up for grabs.
If you’re not going to be in Orlando for the contest, log in on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for complete coverage of the contests. We’ll be doing web updates from the event, starting with the Ams on Friday and again with the Pros on Saturday.
Mark Appleyard, Rune Glifberg, Dennis Busenitz, Caswell Berry, Ivan Rivado, Alain Goikoetxea, Collin Provost and Grant Taylor, Rodney Jones along with others going all out for the $10,000 top prize money.
In addition to the Pro/Am contest Volcom has scheduled a Girls skate Jam, Pro/Am Demos and Florida Inductions to the Skateboard Hall of Fame.
